Our Boom J’s Cuisine food truck brought over 400 ice-cold, fresh coconuts straight from the caribbean to the Old Port from July 9 to 12, 2026, and we couldn't wait to serve you a taste of our champion number-one sellers—our authentic jerk chicken and signature jerk poutine—at the Taste of the Caribbean festival.

When the reggae started to pump through the speakers, you would have sworn you were in downtown Kingston Jamaica at a dub session. The bass was thumping off the main stage while our traditional Jamaican drum grill was heating up, ready to serve the massive crowd. The live reggae artists were incredible, completely lighting up the crowd, all the way to Soca Sunday when Alison Hinds brought the high-energy soca vibes that had the whole Old Port jumping. The atmosphere was absolutely electric.

Our original full-sized food truck was on site, but we also brought double the trouble—our brand-new second addition, Boom Boom Poulet Frit! The crowd absolutely loved the island-style fried chicken truck. It was honestly the moment we realized we could successfully operate two food trucks with two completely different concepts in the exact same location. It was an amazing, amazing festival!

None of this magic would have been possible without the amazing family behind the food. I want to give a huge, heartfelt thank you to my beautiful wife, the entire Boom J’s team, and big up Team Amigo—led by Carlos, our master grill chef from the Dominican Republic, who held down the fiery drum grill with pure skill all weekend long. Your hard work, passion, and endless energy made this whole festival a massive success!

The energy and non-stop lines around our trucks were so intense that CBC Radio’s All in a Weekend with Sonali Karnick caught up with me live during the event. I got to speak about our journey, operating two food trucks in Montreal, and how we bring traditional Jamaican flavors and fusion dishes to the city's biggest festivals.

When LASSO Montréal took over Parc Jean-Drapeau on August 15 and 16, 2026, country music fans gathered on Saint Helen's Island for two days of non-stop live music, cowboy boots, and incredible festival energy. To keep thousands of hungry festival-goers powered through a packed lineup of headliners, our team was ready to roll.

From the moment the festival gates opened, we were prepared to serve the massive crowd right at the heart of the action. Perfectly positioned near the Bell LASSO Stage, our food truck was served up authentic Jamaican cuisine all weekend long. Even when Saturday brought a bit of rain, the weather could not slow us down—our team kept the grill hot and kept serving hungry fans right through the drizzle. This was our very first time being a part of the LASSO country festival, so we brought out our top fan favorites to win over the crowd.

The Quebec Fusion Favorite: Jerk Chicken Poutine

While country fans loved every item on our menu, one dish completely stole the show: our signature Jerk Chicken Poutine.

We took Quebec’s iconic staple—crispy French fries, rich savory gravy, and squeaky-fresh cheese curds—and elevated it with a bold Caribbean twist. Loaded high with slow-marinated, grilled jerk chicken and seasoned with our signature spice blend, it became an instant hit. Country fans heading to and from the Bell LASSO Stage couldn't get enough of the heat and comfort fused into a single plate.

Country music and authentic street food share a deep connection: hearty portions, real tradition, and bringing people together. Seeing country fans fuel up on Boom J's Cuisine Jamaican cuisine while taking in the live music was a true highlight of our summer season.
